Early yesterday morning, a man in Port St. Lucie caused a disturbance at a Racetrack gas station and subsequently at a Wawa store, leading to significant police activity and temporary road closures. The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD), alerted by a call from a man claiming to have a bomb and in need of gas, responded to the situation involving 39-year-old Jeremy Wooster, who threatened a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper with a gun and a bomb while at Racetrac on Gatlin Boulevard, according to WPTV.
Jeremy Wooster, after threatening the officer, drove to a Wawa on Tradition Parkway, where he proceeded to ram his vehicle into the law enforcement cars, attempting to prevent his escape, and this altercation led to the closure of nearby roads and an advisory for the public to avoid the affected areas, as indicated by the Port St. Lucie Police Department's X account.
There is current police activity at the Wawa gas station & convenience store. This is affecting nearby roads, SW Tradition Parkway and SW Village Parkway.

Once Wooster was at the Wawa, SWAT officers successfully immobilized his vehicle, and they apprehended the suspect, as stated by PSLPD. Despite his earlier claims, no explosives or weapons were found in his vehicle, as later reported by WPBF. However, it was discovered that the vehicle was stolen from Palm Beach County, contributing to the charges brought against Wooster.
Wooster is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, aggravated battery, felony criminal mischief, fleeing and eluding, the false report concerning planting a bomb, an explosive, or a weapon of mass destruction, and grand theft auto. No one was injured during this incident, and a detailed investigation is underway to discern additional details about the motives and circumstances leading to the event, WPBF reported.
