In a tragic turn of events in Port Vue, authorities have charged 16-year-old Jahwon Glenn after a shooting incident that left his younger brother with a gunshot wound. According to a report by WTAE, the police were called to the 1300 block of Romine Avenue on Thanksgiving night, just after 10 p.m., where they found the injured juvenile.
According to the CBS News Pittsburgh, Glenn was showing a black pistol to friends and his brother inside their home when the firearm discharged. The bullet struck his brother in the leg, leaving the other juveniles at the scene presumably in shock, with an investigation now ongoing to understand the full context of the shooting.
The victim, swiftly taken to an area hospital, is reported to be in stable condition. The teenager conveyed to detectives that Glenn, upon the gun's discharge, expressed immediate regret, saying, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," as reported by CBS News Pittsburgh.
Charges against Glenn include aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and firearms charges. After being unable to post bail, the 16-year-old is currently being held in Allegheny County Jail while showing a weapon to the others, the weapon that would end up injuring his brother. The family now faces the aftermath of this event, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for the following month.
