Early this morning, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported a structure fire that took place at a two-story garden-style apartment building located at 1542 W 80th St in Manchester Square. According to LAFD Alert, the fire was first reported at 03:39 AM with one unit on the first floor being "well involved."
The LAFD engaged in an offensive mode to manage the blaze. A total of 38 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, as noted by a follow-up report from the department. Impressively, they managed to quickly and efficiently knock down the fire, doing so in approximately 11 minutes. It was later confirmed by an update from the LAFD that no injuries were reported. They successfully contained the fire to the unit of origin.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Council District 8, with Battalion 13 being the overseeing authority, as per the LAFD. Engaged resources included Battalion Chiefs, different Engine Companies, and Rescue Ambulances, among other units.
