In Rohnert Park, two vehicles collided head-on along Country Club Drive. According to a social media post by the City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire, the accident occurred last Friday and involved one driver whose attention was diverted by children in the back seat. In a split-second decision to avoid a vehicle ahead, the driver swerved into the opposing traffic lane, colliding with an oncoming car.
The two children in the vehicle involved managed to sustain only moderate injuries. They were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, receiving appropriate care before being released.
The authorities have not released the names of those involved in the crash, respecting the privacy and recuperation process of the individuals and their families. However, the City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire have issued a plea to the public: "Thank you for increasing safety in our community by paying important attention while driving."
