A tragic incident in Sacramento County resulted in the death of a 32-year-old Hispanic woman after she was struck by a vehicle on 65th Street, north of Florin Road.

The collision, which occurred just before 7 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, involved a 2016 BMW traveling southbound. According to the abc10 report, the bicyclist entered the path of the car while attempting to cross the street. Despite hitting the brakes, the driver was unable to avoid the impact.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol said that the driver, a 41-year-old individual, did not test positive for alcohol, suggesting intoxication was not a factor in the crash, as reported by FOX40. After the incident, the injured cyclist was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she later passed away from her injuries on Sunday.
