A tragic incident on San Antonio’s Northeast side has claimed the life of a 31-year-old woman, identified as Julie Butcher. According to FOX San Antonio, the San Antonio Police Department reported that Butcher was shot in the head while driving near Rittiman Road and IH-35. The violence erupted around 9:20 p.m. this past Friday, leading her vehicle to crash and roll over into a ditch, where she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office later ruled Butcher’s death a homicide, resulting from the gunshot wound. Meanwhile, the San Antonio Police Department suspects this was not a random act of violence. As stated by KSAT, officers believe the shooting was a targeted incident. However, details about a suspect or suspect vehicle have not yet been forthcoming, leaving a chilling void of information in the wake of this brutal act.
