San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced the conviction of a man following a jury trial on multiple charges involving the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl over two days in 2021. The announcement, detailed by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, named Fredy Gomez-Orozco, 44, as the convicted perpetrator.

"I would like to thank the survivor for her courage and resilience," Jenkins stated. "I hope that this verdict helps her heal from these traumatic incidents.  My office takes these cases seriously and will do everything we can to ensure that justice is served." According to the evidence presented at trial, the victim, while washing dishes at the kitchen sink on October 2, 2021, was groped and restrained by Gomez-Orozco, who hugged her from behind, fondling her breasts and touching her vagina, as per the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.

The following day, the situation turned graver as Gomez-Orozco forcibly orally assaulted the teen after offering her money for every hug given. Managing to fight him off, the young girl made an emergency call to her mother from the bathroom, which led to the report of the incidents to the San Francisco Police that night. Assistant District Attorney Michele Brass, along with her team, successfully prosecuted the case, receiving the necessary support from the outstanding work of the San Francisco Police Department's Special Victims Unit, which was crucial in developing a strong case against Gomez-Orozco.

"This case is a testament to the power and strength of the sexual assault survivor," Brass said upon securing the conviction. "I want to thank the jurors for providing justice for the survivor who displayed tremendous courage in not only reporting this egregious conduct, but also throughout this long trial process." She shared gratitude for the survivor and her mother's enduring spirit during the ordeal. In custody, Gomez-Orozco awaits a pending hearing on the charged aggravated factors, as cited by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.
