Authorities issued a social media alert requesting the public's help in identifying four individuals accused of using counterfeit money at multiple retail locations.

According to the Sanford Police Department, on Wednesday, four unidentified individuals used counterfeit money to defraud or attempted to defraud Party City, Burlington, and Target stores off W.P. Ball Blvd. In the cases where the fake bills were accepted, the businesses suffered a total loss of $1,500.

The Sanford Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the individuals involved in these crimes. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the department to assist in the investigation and help bring those responsible to justice.
