
The Santa Rosa Fire Department rescued a man after his kayak capsized on Fountaingrove Lake earlier today. At around 9:00 a.m., emergency services were deployed following a 911 call from an alert citizen who heard cries for help emanating from the water. The incident occurred in the Fountaingrove neighborhood at Nagasawa Park, a known recreational spot for water activities. Upon their arrival, fire personnel spotted the male donning a life vest and holding onto his overturned kayak.
The rescue team acted swiftly, donning their gear and navigating the waters to reach the stranded kayaker. Once brought safely to shore, he was immediately treated and transported to a local hospital. Details regarding the duration of the man’s exposure to the chilly lake water have not been released.
A social media post from the City of Santa Rosa Fire Department provided the initial report of the day's events. The post recounted the incident, noting that firefighters "quickly dawned their gear and swam to the victim."
