
A massive search operation is underway for a swimmer who went missing yesterday in the waters off ‘Anini Beach. According to a press release on the Kaua'i Government's website, a 59-year-old man from Arizona, last seen snorkeling near the back channel of ‘Anini Beach, was reported missing around 12:15 p.m.
The alert prompted a multi-agency response, firefighters from the Hanalei fire station, Rescue 3, Air 1, alongside the Ocean Safety Bureau and the on-duty Battalion Chief were dispatched. Adding their resources, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Kaua‘i Police Department are also aiding in the intensive search for the swimmer, whose identity has not yet been revealed.
