On Saturday morning, 41-year-old Kerrie Jones of Stillwater died in a crash on I-35 in Logan County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that her vehicle veered off the highway and caught fire, as reported by OKC FOX.
The incident occurred near the 157-mile marker in Guthrie just before 3 a.m. The vehicle, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, left the road and became wedged between a concrete barrier at the State Highway 33 bridge before going airborne. The Guthrie Fire Department responded and extracted the driver, Jones, from the vehicle. Unfortunately, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the crash, as stated by KFOR.
Local sources have confirmed that the cause of the crash is still under investigation. This points to the difficulty of uncovering the events that led to the fatal accident, as mentioned by News On 6.
