A family in Stockton was burglarized by armed men shortly after leaving their home. The incident was captured on their doorbell camera. "This is very traumatizing, and now our family, we don't even want to step out of the house anymore," a family member said in an interview with abc10.
The incident occurred on Monday evening, just before 8:30 p.m., when the family left their home near Hammer Lane. They received a notification of activity at their front door and saw the break-in on their doorbell camera. They contacted the police, and Stockton officers, along with a helicopter, responded quickly, but the suspects had already fled in an older model black 4-door sedan. Law enforcement and CBS News were provided with the details.
During the home invasion, the suspects were caught on camera with at least one presenting a firearm; they ransacked the house, breaking a window, and making off with personal items including jewelry and even the mother's wedding ring. "We didn't know what to do when we saw that. We have two little kids living in our home," a family member told abc10.
Stockton Police Officer David Scott said the home was in disarray when they arrived, and the area was quickly secured, but no suspects were found. The perpetrators are still at large, and police encourage anyone with information to come forward. They believe four to five suspects were involved. Efforts to capture the criminals are ongoing, and tips can be submitted anonymously through Stockton Crime Stoppers at 209-946-0600.
