A routine traffic stop on Pleasant Grove Road in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, transformed into a significant recovery operation as Mt. Juliet Police officers found a handgun that had been reported as stolen from Lewisburg more than seven years ago. The incident, reported by the local news on November 7th, occurred the previous day and ended with the arrest of a 35-year-old Nashville man.
The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was not only in possession of the stolen firearm but is also a convicted felon with additional warrants out for his arrest. According to the Wilson County Source, he was wanted in Nashville for failing to appear on a driving on a revoked license charge. The suspect has been taken into custody without incident and now faces charges related to the possession of the stolen firearm.
It seems the recovery of guns involved in criminal activities has become a pattern for the Mt. Juliet Police Department. As per the information obtained by News 2, officers have seized 46 guns linked to criminal activity over the past six months, showcasing a persistent issue of illegal firearms circulating within the region.

In a social media post, the Mt. Juliet Police celebrated the recovery, saying, "Another stolen gun is off the streets! This afternoon, a traffic stop for speeding on Pleasant Grove Rd led officers to recover a handgun that was reported stolen from Lewisburg, TN, over seven years ago." The post also noted the suspect's status as a convicted felon and highlighted the outstanding warrants from Nashville. The department thanked its officers for their diligence and effort in maintaining the safety of the Mt. Juliet community.
