
A man has been taken into custody following two separate assaults in Dearborn on Saturday morning. The first incident was reported at approximately 7:20 a.m. near a 7-Eleven at the intersection of Monroe and Dartmouth streets, and the second occurred around five hours later near the area of Cleveland Street and Monroe Street, as reported by CBS News Detroit
The suspect, who allegedly targeted women in both instances, was arrested shortly before 3 p.m. after the second assault. Dearborn police have not yet released his name, pending formal charges. FOX 2 Detroit reported the second incident occurred just after noon, and, neither victim sustained serious injuries.
Both victims are residents of Dearborn, and the assaults prompted swift action from the local authorities. The Dearborn Police Department shared a surveillance camera still-shot of the suspect, a man in a red hat, on social media at around 1:30 p.m., asking the public for tips. According to audacy, the suspect is described as a male likely in his early 20s to 30s, and possibly having facial hair.
About an hour and a half after the appeal for public assistance, Dearborn Police followed up on social media announcing the suspect's arrest. Neither of the women were seriously hurt, police said.
