A 24-year-old man has been taken into custody following a fatal stabbing in Tampa. Michael Aldana is accused of killing Arnold Guiterrez, 19, in an early morning altercation yesterday. The attack transpired at the Carrollwood Apartments near Northgreen Avenue, where the deputies discovered Guiterrez with multiple stab wounds at around 2:20 a.m., as has been confirmed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), as reported by WTSP.
Following the incident, Guiterrez was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has stated that an argument between Aldana and Guiterrez escalated into a physical fight, ultimately leading to the stabbing. Having been arrested in connection to the crime, Aldana now faces a charge of first-degree murder with a weapon. Sheriff Chad Chronister expressing condolences: "Our hearts go out to the family of the young man whose life was ended in this senseless act of violence," he said.
The arrest resulted from ongoing investigations by detectives trying to understand the events of that fatal morning.
