A teenage boy is fighting for his life following a shooting in Baltimore's Central District, reported the Baltimore Police Department. The 15-year-old was found with multiple gunshot wounds yesterday after officers were alerted to the sound of gunfire by ShotSpotter technology. The shooting occurred on the 400 block of North Caroline Street, but the victim was discovered on the next block, indicating he may have tried to flee.
Police provided emergency medical care until the victim could be transported to a local hospital, where he currently remains in critical condition. The Central District Shooting detectives have now taken over the investigation to ascertain who was behind the act and the events that led up to it.
Authorities have made a public appeal for anyone with information to come forward. "Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at 410-396-2411," as stated by a Baltimore Police Department report.
