A devastating crash claimed the lives of three Arizona motorcyclists as they returned from a vigil honoring a fellow rider. The accident occurred on SR 80 south of St. David in Cochise County. According to ABC15, the collision involved an Infinity SUV and the three motorcyclists at around 6 p.m. on Sunday. The SUV, for reasons still under investigation, veered across the median and into the path of the motorcyclists.

Officials identified the victims as 37-year-old Anthony Odell Davis and 40-year-old Bennie Melvin Eugene Dansby, both from Maricopa, along a 55-year-old James Maurice Samuel from Glendale. In a heartbreaking turn, the three were part of a motorcycle club called the "Chosen Few" and had just attended a vigil for another motorcyclist. "These guys were soldiers," Milcc Walker, a member of the "Chosen Few", told FOX 10 Phoenix.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety suspects that the driver of the Infinity, a 41-year-old man from Huachuca City, was impaired at the time of the accident. Criminal charges are pending following the completion of the investigation, reports ABC15.

Meanwhile, the motorcycling community is left in mourning, with a candlelight vigil planned for the three riders in north Phoenix. "I'm angry because of the simple fact that you got on the highway drunk, and not only did you take one life, but you took two other great people," expressed Jazzmin Dansby, Bennie's cousin, in an interview with FOX 10 Phoenix
