Violence erupted in Seattle's Belltown area on Monday evening, with three individuals hospitalized following a shooting. According to the Seattle Police Department Blotter, multiple 911 calls reported the incident occurring near 2nd Avenue and Lenora Street, later pinpointed in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue.
First responders discovered two victims at the scene: a 31-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the ankle and a man, also wounded by gunfire to the knee. They both received immediate medical aid and were subsequently taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition, as per the Seattle Police Department. The third victim - a 25-year-old man - was located in the 1900 block of 3rd Avenue with injuries to his chest and hand.
The Gun Violence Reduction Unit has taken the helm of the ongoing investigation. While the events precipitating the brutality remain unknown, the unit is working diligently to piece together the prelude to the shootings. As of now, no suspect has been detained as authorities continue to search for leads, the Seattle Police Department reported.
