
On the afternoon of November 26, a collision at the junction of County Road 11 and County Road 6 sent three individuals to the hospital and brought emergency services to the northwest of Lake Crystal. According to a social media post by the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the incident which involved a white Ford Ecosport and a black Honda Civic.
The Ford, heading west on County Road 11, was driven by 15-year-old Jack Richard Fox with 76-year-old Terry Leonard Arduser from Madelia, a certified driving instructor, accompanying him. They collided with the Civic, which was traveling north on County Road 6, operated by 25-year-old Bridget Patricia Lynch. The intersection is known to be regulated by stop signs on County Road 11, requiring drivers to halt and yield to the traffic moving on County Road 6.
Emergency airlift was required for the teenage driver, whereas Arduser and Lynch were transported via ambulance to receive medical attention. The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office confirmed that all parties sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Following the crash, multiple local services including Lake Crystal Police, Fire and Ambulance as well, as Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service and Mayo Clinic Air Ambulance, were present to aid in the response.
The crash is still under investigation by local authorities, with the MN State Patrol being brought in to assist. Details about the cause or contributing factors to the accident have yet to be disclosed, and the current conditions of the involved parties haven’t been provided outside of the initial assessment of their injuries.
