Authorities in North Houston responded to a shooting near Hoyland Elementary School in the Spring Independent School District. The incident occurred at an apartment complex behind the school and was not directly related to the school or its students, according to law enforcement sources, as reported by Click2Houston.
Authorities quickly secured the school with Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman reassuring the public that the campus was safe. A male victim with a gunshot wound was found on the school grounds and taken to a hospital, according to a statement from Pct. 4 Capt. Jose Garza
Constable Herman later announced the arrest of two individuals, one of whom attempted to evade capture on foot, reported FOX 26 Houston. Further investigation revealed that one of the apprehended suspects had an unrelated open warrant for felony indecent assault.
No other injuries were made public by the authorities. The identity of the suspects has not been disclosed, and the case remains under investigation.
