Two men were shot and injured following a heated disagreement about a double-parked car in Queens, as detailed in a report by NY Daily News. The incident occurred on Sunday evening on 79th Ave. near 147th St. in Kew Gardens Hills.
According to the police, the altercation began when the driver of a black Acura MDX, upset over the car obstructing the road, exchanged words with the two victims standing by their double-parked vehicle. The situation quickly escalated, culminating in gunshots that injured the pair—a 41-year-old man hit in the left leg, and a 34-year-old man shot in the left foot, police said. They were promptly taken to Jamaica Hospital and are expected to make a recovery.
As the authorities conducted their investigation, one of the suspects, Alan Rodriguez, 22, reportedly returned to the crime scene and was subsequently arrested. Rodriguez has a previous arrest for assault on his record, and was also wanted in a robbery case, according to police reports. At the scene of the crime, five shell casings were recovered; however, the gun used in the shooting has yet to be found.
