A vehicle collided with the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department building in Washington County yesterday afternoon, resulting in two women being transported to a hospital. According to the fire chief, the driver lost control after attempting to evade debris on the road. The car subsequently struck one of the fire station's garage doors, as reported by WTAE.
Upon impact, the vehicle's bumper detached, damaging one of the structure's garage doors. Despite the collision, both women sustained injuries that were not considered serious, said the fire chief. Following the crash, firefighters were seen moving trucks from the affected garage to another area to maintain operational readiness, as detailed in a statement by WPXI.
The Richeyville Fire Department, located on Firehall Road, quickly responded. The fire chief reassured the community that the damaged door would not affect the fire department's response to emergencies.
As the incident is still under investigation, updates are expected to be provided as more information becomes available. The condition of the women taken to the hospital has not been updated since their initial assessment.
