Two young individuals were injured in a shooting incident in the Ottawa Hills neighborhood of Grand Rapids last night. The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) was called to the scene around 9:25 p.m., following reports of shots fired on Fuller Avenue near Alexander Street. As detailed by WOODTV, initial difficulty in locating both the scene and the victims was faced by responding officers.
An unexpected assist came from an ambulance, traveling from Muskegon, which happened to pass by one of the victims and swiftly provided aid, taking them to a nearby hospital. The second victim managed to separately get to another hospital for treatment. According to FOX 17, despite the harrowing circumstances, both juveniles suffered injuries not deemed to be life-threatening. The scene was marked by the presence of several police cruisers, and law enforcement was observed escorting an individual to a cruiser, yet no suspect information has been forthcoming as of now.
The incident was reported to have taken place after 9:00 p.m. on Halloween night. While the police have not pinpointed the exact location of the shooting, it is suspected to have occurred within the 1000 block of Fuller Ave SE.
