UFP Packaging, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is broadening its horizons with the launch of a new Packaging Design and Development Center (DDC) in Newnan, Georgia. As reported by Atlanta Business Chronicle, this new addition spans 10,000 square feet and promises an interactive experience that transcends the standard packaging service model.

The center is stocked with a prototyping shop and holds the distinction of being ISTA-certified for its rigorous testing capabilities. But it's not just about creating boxes and pallets; UFP aims to drive innovation in the industry. "Many of our customers have unique products that require more than an off-the-shelf packaging solution," J.F. Granger, the company's executive vice president of Structural Packaging said in a prepared statement, according to an Atlanta Business Chronicle. The intent is to hone designs, conserve materials, subsequently reduce waste, and ensure product protection within the supply chain through dedicated testing.

The new facility marks another strategic expansion for UFP Packaging, a subsidiary of UFP Industries Inc., which is already a recognized name in manufacturing wood pallets, crates, and a variety of custom packaging solutions. Clients are invited to collaborate firsthand with the company's experts to refine their packaging needs to realize both economic and environmental benefits. This Newnan center also facilitates PalletOne, a UFP company, in hosting educational classes and supporting their Pallet Concierge™ service, according to the information from Business Wire.

The DDC provides a full range of ISTA-certified testing services to ensure goods are safely transported. This includes testing for various shipping conditions, from less-than-truckload to full truckload. The center is also certified in Amazon 6 testing and meets ASTM and ISO standards for package and pallet testing. Located near Atlanta, it offers fast and accessible service to customers across the United States.
