NBC Miami reported that despite immediate aid from students and medical professionals on site, Francis's condition was unrecoverable.

The university, which enrolls close to 2,000 students, suspended classes yesterday and held a vigil to honor Francis's memory. Furthermore, the official University of Mobile Rams post expressed their condolences and asked the community to lift Kaiden's family and friends up in prayer.
Head basketball coach Darnell Archey shared his grief over the loss on social media, recalling Francis's commitment to the game and his ebullient presence.
