Brooklyn's streets became the backdrop for a disturbing incident last month as a man and woman were targeted in what the NYPD is investigating as an anti-Asian hate crime. According to PIX11, this unprovoked attack occurred on October 19 around 10 p.m. near Albee Square. The Police Department has reported that the victims were walking when four individuals approached them, proceeded to throw whipped cream at them, and also made anti-Asian remarks.
The suspects, who fled on foot, remain unidentified and at large as the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force continues to actively investigate the case. Details from a Patch report indicated that the incident took place in front of 445 Albee Square. Despite the alarming nature of the confrontation, no physical injuries were reported. The New York City Police Department is seeking to quickly identify and apprehend the culprits behind this aggressive act meant to seemingly intimidate and harass based on race.
