Lower Frederick Township drivers' commute on Eastbound Little Road is about to get a little more complicated. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transport's latest bulletin, construction is on the horizon. Starting Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, expect closures and detours as Prestige Property Partners LLC tackles utility improvements under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
Those driving eastbound on Little Road will need to reroute between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Simmons Road. The suggested detour will take motorists via Route 29, Route 73 (Big Road), and Perkiomenville Road. Although local access will be preserved up to the work zone, the advice below is clear: allow for extra travel time to navigate through the backups that are sure to occur. This schedule is weather-dependent.
PennDOT advises travelers to stay informed through their 511PA service, which brings real-time traffic information, including traffic delay warnings, to your fingertips. The service, available at no cost, can be accessed online, via a smartphone application for iPhone and Android, or by simply calling 5-1-1.
