Heads up, Maitland drivers: You'll need to pivot your routes starting later this week. The city advised motorists that an upcoming closure at the intersection of North Thistle Lane and Mohawk Trail will reroute traffic for three days due to the installation of an underground sewer pipeline. According to a press release by the City of Maitland, the disruption starts on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Traffic is expected to be heavy near Maitland Middle School and Dommerich Elementary, as parents and buses will add to the usual flow. The city hasn’t provided specific alternate routes yet but advises extra caution when driving through the area.
To navigate the changes, plan, check the city’s updates, and consider carpooling or using other forms of transport to ease congestion.
