A Valley woman named Victoria Cardenas is cautiously beginning to recover from a horrific traffic accident that occurred on US 60, which resulted in severe injuries and her falling into a coma. Cardenas, a 26-year-old business owner, was involved in a crash when a truck jack-knifed, causing debris including pipes and a power pole to strike her vehicle. Following the incident, she was placed in an induced coma to assist her healing process, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
In what can only to be described as unexpectedly hopeful news, Cardenas has since opened her eyes and shown the ability to react to visual stimuli, although she faces a lengthy period of recovery ahead. "It’s a miracle. If anybody has seen the wreckage or seen the scene, there wasn’t much left. The only thing that was left was my daughter," Amber, Victoria's mother, told FOX 10 Phoenix.
Cardenas is the proprietor of Mudslingers at the Goldfield Goldmine in Apache Junction, an establishment where she crafts and sells her pottery. In light of her incapacitation, her friends and family have stepped in to maintain the store's operation, ensuring that her livelihood endures despite her absence. Cameryn Lucia, a close friend of Victoria's, expressed her profound affection for Cardenas during an emotional statement: "She is so loved she is such an amazing human being. I am so blessed and lucky to have her as my friend. I’m sorry, I just love her so much," as told to FOX 10 Phoenix.
Encouraged to find solace and support from the community, Victoria's family is fully focused on her road to recovery. "The miracle I know that God wants her here for a reason and that she’s still alive for a reason and my baby is gonna wake up," Amber stated in hopes of her daughter's healing. To aid in covering medical expenses and to acquire new pottery equipment due to an injury to Victoria’s hand, a GoFundMe page has been established. This crowdfunding initiative has been set up in the aftermath of the tragic accident, ensuring that financial pressures do not compound the family's emotional stress, as shared by Cargreen. There is, as of yet, no confirmed date for when Victoria may to be discharged from hospital care.
