Vancouver police have apprehended 22-year-old Travis Ward, the man identified as the suspect behind the tragic Halloween shooting at Vancouver Mall. According to KATU, the arrest followed a lead that placed Ward at a local residence, where he surrendered upon the arrival of SWAT officers.
Ward is facing charges of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault. The incident, which unfolded during a trick-or-treat event, unfortunately claimed the life of one man and left two others injured. As per the initial investigation, police believe the two surviving victims were not intended targets.
