Guests at a west Houston hotel were startled when a car made an unexpected splashdown into the hotel pool. The incident unfolded yesterday at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 12245 Katy Freeway near Dairy Ashford Road, right in the hustle of Houston’s Energy Corridor. According to Click2Houston, the car broke through the metal fencing that surrounds the pool before it was submerged in the water.
Images captured by Sky 2's chopper showed the vehicle lodged inside the pool, with Houston Police officers at the scene conducting an investigation. With the details of how the car ended up in the pool still unclear, it is known that, there were people inside the vehicle when the incident occurred. Miraculously, they were all pulled to safety before the arrival of first responders, as reported by Houston Police.
Meanwhile, KHOU noted that the episode happened around 2:30 p.m., there were no reports of injuries from those involved. Wreckers were summoned to the location, although John Cannon with the Houston Police Department mentioned that draining the pool would be a necessary step before attempting to remove the vehicle.
No additional details have been released about the cause of the incident, and investigations are ongoing. This is a developing story, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
