Washington State Patrol is seeking the public's assistance in tracking down a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred last week, as reported by authorities.
The incident, which claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman, took place around 6:30 pm on October 30th as she attempted to cross eastbound SR 523 near Stone Ave, the WSP has confirmed the woman was struck by a black 2007 GMC Yukon which continued eastbound after the collision without stopping, the vehicle in question has been described to have noticeable front-end damage and is registered under Washington License Plate BIS1792.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with information regarding the location of the Yukon or the identity of the driver at the time of the collision to come forward. According to an official statement by WSP, “The GMC will have front end damage bears Washington License Plate BIS1792. If located call 9-1-1 immediately. DO NOT approach."
Authorities emphasized the importance of community assistance as they continue the search for the vehicle, urging anyone with details that might lead to the apprehension of the individual responsible, thus providing some semblance of closure to the events that transpired on that fateful evening when a life was tragically cut short on SR 523, and a driver left the scene ensnared by their own making, distancing themselves from the act, yet leaving behind an indelible trace that now calls for justice.
