The White Settlement Police Department has marked a significant milestone with the graduation of its very first Junior Police Academy class, an initiative that falls under the broad canopy of the Public Safety Cadets national program. According to the White Settlement Police Department, four teens, Alexzandria Cruz, Emilio Woods, Shelbi Moseley, and Zachary Moody, have completed months of meticulous training and education to learn more intimately the ropes of the law enforcement profession.
The graduation celebrates their dedication and hard work, as they were individually acknowledged by the organization. Coordinating their journey was Corporal Jonathan Russell, who stood at the center of this educational endeavor. The ceremony was notably attended by Mayor Faron Young, Mayor Pro Tem Amber Munoz, City Secretary Amy Arnold, and City Manager Jeff James, reflecting the community's solid support for the program.
Chief Cook, credited with the vision behind this increased community engagement, has worked towards establishing a variety of programs to connect with younger demographics. The department’s commitment is evident in supporting several initiatives ranging from an Academy 4 Investigator’s Club, which mentors fourth graders, to participating in the Special Olympics, and several reading programs aimed at elementary school children and library visitors.
