Teresa Louise Lightfoot, 51, of Wilburton, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm – a violation that carries significant legal consequences. The report on the U.S. Attorney's Office details that on September 28, 2023, Lightfoot was found in possession of a semiautomatic pistol despite a past conviction that prevented her from legally holding the weapon.
This case, propelled by an investigation involving the Latimer County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, brings to the forefront the complexities surrounding gun possession laws and the enforcement of such regulations against individuals with previous convictions.
