A 52-year-old woman was injured in an unexpected attack by a man with whom she was reportedly meeting for lunch in the downtown west area of the city. The incident, which took place in the 1200 block of Linden, occurred just after 11:30 a.m. yesterday, according to St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim indicated to the officers that as they were about to head for lunch, the male suspect inexplicably started swinging a knife at her. This ill-fated encounter resulted in her sustaining minor wounds to her hand and wrist. The motive behind the assault continues to be a mystery as the investigation pushes onward.
