A tragic series of events in Worcester has left two people dead following what police are describing as a domestic incident. According to Boston 25 News, officers arrived at a home on Gingerbread Trail around 2 a.m. on Thursday, where they discovered a woman and a man with gunshot wounds; the woman was declared deceased at the scene, and the man later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The identities of the victims have yet to be disclosed as the investigation continues, with Worcester police releasing a statement indicating that due to the nature of the incident, only limited information can be made available, last week the neighborhood was rife with concern and disbelief as residents reacted to the violence that erupted within their quiet community. WCVB reported that as of Monday, the male victim had not survived his injuries, providing a somber update to the incident. Neighbors have portrayed the family involved as private, noting that several generations lived together in the home that became the scene of such unsettling violence. "I only remember seeing the older parents being picked up by the van or walking down the street here and there", Karen Dauderis, a neighbor, told WCVB, reflecting on the discreet nature of the family.
