Fulton County is getting financial support to address the skills gap in its workforce. WorkSource Fulton has received the WorkSource Georgia Apprenticeship Navigator Grant from the Office of Workforce Development. This grant aims to improve job training programs and increase apprenticeship opportunities for jobseekers and employers in the county.
According to the Fulton County website, with the grant's support, WorkSource Fulton will work on developing effective apprenticeship initiatives. Brett Lacy, Deputy Director of Select Fulton, expressed optimism, stating, "This funding will allow us to expand our apprenticeship initiatives and help create new pathways for Fulton County residents and employers to provide essential skills in high-demand industries," positioning the county as a leader in workforce development in the Metro Atlanta region.
Apprenticeships are key to building a skilled workforce in local communities, and WorkSource Fulton's programs help connect residents with rewarding job opportunities. Along with the financial support, WorkSource Fulton will partner with the Apprentice Georgia Program Development Team to improve strategies and solutions for their apprenticeship programs.
Partnerships are essential for the success of vocational training programs, as they help align initiatives with industry needs and best practices, increasing the chances of meaningful job placements. Lacy emphasized, "We are excited about the potential this grant holds for Fulton County to become a leader in the Metro Atlanta region in delivering a reliable and trained workforce," in a statement from the Fulton County government website.
