Wright County is looking for residents to fill three open positions on the County Extension Committee. These roles include one at-large position, one for District 1 (covering Buffalo and Annandale), and one for District 5 (covering Cokato and Delano). The committee is vital in shaping local educational programs, overseeing budget development, staffing, and serving as a liaison between the community and the University of Minnesota.
According to Wright County, the committee’s responsibilities include assessing educational needs, providing feedback, hiring staff, and assisting with marketing Extension programs in the county. The committee’s decisions are reviewed and approved by the Wright County Board of Commissioners, ensuring that local citizens' needs are addressed.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a letter of interest by Friday, December 6. Lori Vicich, Extension Regional Director, is accepting applications via email at [email protected]. This is an opportunity for community members passionate about education to get involved and drive change.
For more information about the committee and its impact, the Wright County Extension website provides details about its goals, educational outreach, and strategic planning.
