An 18-year-old from Wylie, Texas now faces severe charges after being arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. In a statement released by the Wylie Police Department on their Facebook page, officials identified the suspect as Mahey Mohammed.

The arrest followed an altercation that occurred on Sunday after Mohammed allegedly used his vehicle as a weapon, intentionally striking a 25-year-old victim. The victim, who suffered major injuries, was found in the area of Ray Hubbard Way and Richland Chambers Ct. They remain in the Intensive Care Unit with multiple broken bones.

Wylie Police responded to the scene close to 9:45 pm following the reported disturbance. A press release from the department detailed how Mohammed admitted to detectives that he was behind the wheel, confirming he drove the white Dodge Charger that hit the victim after an argument. Sergeant Donald English of the Wylie Police Department cited in the statement that Mohammed was apprehended while driving back to his residence and placed under arrest.
