In what has become a far too familiar scene in our cities, Pittsburgh Police were yet again summoned to respond to the sounds of gunfire last night. This time, the alert came via a ShotSpotter notification around 11:15 p.m. in Terrace Village, leading them to the 2000 block of Rose Street, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department's news release.
A young boy, whose name is withheld due to his age, was shot while walking to his house. He is now in stable condition at the hospital. Police are investigating the incident, highlighting growing concerns about random violence in urban neighborhoods.
Authorities have not identified any suspects or made arrests in the case. Detectives continue their investigation, reviewing evidence and witness accounts to find those responsible.
