Earlier this morning, a woman was shot multiple times in Wilkinsburg, prompting a significant police response. WTAE reports that Allegheny County dispatchers received calls about gunfire around 3:28 a.m. on the 1700 block of Doyle Street. When officers arrived, they encountered a 22-year-old woman who had been hit by bullets, once in each leg and once in the hand.
Upon the officers' arrival, immediately taken to a hospital was the young victim, where her condition was listed as stable. As the investigation proceeds, authorities have yet to release the identity of the wounded woman. WPXI confirms that the Allegheny County Police Department is leading the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
