
Gunfire shattered the relative calm of a Northwest Baltimore neighborhood yesterday evening, leaving a 26-year-old man wounded, according to the Baltimore Police Department. In the 4800 block of Wilern Avenue, at around 5:37 p.m., officers were called to the scene, where they found the victim with gunshot injuries.
The shooting prompted an immediate response from the Northwest District officers, who, after arriving quickly at the location, found the man in distress. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital with injuries that were thankfully not life-threatening. While he received care, detectives from the Northwest District specializing in shooting cases took the reins of the unfolding investigation, combing through the evidence and seeking out those who might shed light on this violent episode.
Information about the motive behind the shooting and the identity of the assailant(s) is still limited. However, the police department is urging anyone with information to come forward.
