A fatal collision claimed the life of a 65-year-old pedestrian on the West Side of San Antonio Thursday evening. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Guadalupe Street and S. Zarzamora Street, as per KSAT.
San Antonio Police Department have said the man was crossing east in a crosswalk on Guadalupe Street, apparently disregarding the caution of the "do not walk" light sign which was flashing. A driver, who was traveling northbound with the right of way via a green light, struck the pedestrian. The man was pronounced dead upon the officers' arrival, as reported by KSAT.
News 4 San Antonio confirmed police presence at the intersection following the crash, which was initially reported to have occurred around 6:45 p.m. The driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene to cooperate with the investigation. According to the police, the driver is not currently expected to face charges.
