An 84-year-old woman lost her life in a west Las Vegas vehicle collision late Christmas night, the incident resulting in the 156th traffic-related fatality for the year within the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Upon approaching Spring Shower Drive while driving a Camry east on Spring Mountain, a 46-year-old man struck the elderly pedestrian. News3LV reported that the woman was traversing south across west Spring Mountain, notably outside of a crosswalk at the time of the fatal encounter. The driver, showing no signs of impairment, remained at the scene and cooperated fully, undergoing voluntary sobriety tests.
