On November 21, at approximately 10:12 a.m., a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Desert Inn Road and Montessouri Street involving a 2004 Honda Accord and a 2017 Ford Escape. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the driver of the Ford Escape failed to yield at a stop sign, causing the collision with the Honda. The incident was initially considered routine, but tragically, the situation became fatal almost a week later.

The driver of the Ford, 68-year-old Donna Maynor from Las Vegas, was not injured and showed no signs of impairment at the scene. The 91-year-old driver of the Honda, whose name is withheld, was injured and taken to UMC Trauma. Trauma staff initially assessed the injuries as not life-threatening, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Last Friday, the Clark County Coroner confirmed that the elderly driver of the Honda died from injuries she sustained in a collision. Her death is the 148th traffic fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department jurisdiction in 2024. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Collision Investigation Section is still looking into the incident. There is no evidence of impairment.
