Following a collaborative investigation, U.S. Attorney Leigha Simonton announced the charges against an alleged child molester with distinctive tattoos aiding his identification. Christopher Lynn Driskill, 48, formerly unknown as "John Doe 49," is now facing a criminal complaint accusing him of producing child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas. Driskill, arrested on Nov. 26, appeared in court yesterday before U.S. Magistrate Judge John R. Parker.
In July 2024, a foreign law enforcement partner flagged child sexual abuse material posted on the dark web to the FBI's Victim Identification Program. It featured a male with several identifiable tattoos, such as "DABBY" on his chest, "197x" on his left bicep, "CAST NO STONES" on his left forearm, and a unique Texas flag tattoo. These visuals lead to an unsettling connection to a man accused of assaulting a prepubescent male, as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Separate from the online evidence, Driskill's ex-partner contacted Coleman Police in September, claiming that he, while intoxicated, confessed to molesting a child and capturing the act on video. Despite interviewing Driskill, who denied the accusations and attributed his ex's claims to bitterness over their breakup, the local police had to close the case initially due to a lack of concrete evidence. However, the interview unveiled tattoos matching those from the disturbing footage: "CAST NO STONES" and a partial Texan flag were distinctly visible on Driskill's forearms.
An important break in the case came when the FBI while searching for the man known only as John Doe 49, identified a public Instagram profile with an image resembling the subject in the abusive videos. This digital trail led straight to Driskill in Coleman, Texas. After linking the Coleman Police Department's closed case involving Driskill to the child sexual abuse material, agents confirmed that the tattoos of the man in the interview and the perpetrator in the videos were indeed a match.
Though a criminal complaint has been filed against Driskill, it should be noted that this document is not evidence of guilt. He remains innocent until proven guilty before the law. However, the gravity of the charges could result in up to 30 years in federal prison if he is convicted.
