A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Southern California man, with law enforcement apprehending the alleged perpetrator across the country in Pennsylvania. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department released information that the suspect, 58-year-old Paul Warren, was taken into custody in Philadelphia on December 9, according to a KTLA report. Warren, identified as a resident of Mira Loma, is awaiting extradition back to Southern California.

The incident in question unfolded late last month on November 25th, when deputies responded to an emergency in the 13100 block of Joliet Drive in Rancho Cucamonga just after 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found 43-year-old resident Josh Watson suffering from injuries and in a nonresponsive state. "Watson was transported to a nearby hospital, and despite lifesaving measures, was pronounced deceased," per a San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department statement.

As the investigation continued, detectives from the SBSD's Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, worked to piece together to hastily understand the events leading up to Watson's untimely death. The investigative report indicates that Watson might have had a fatal interaction with Warren upon arriving home, leading to the injuries that resulted in his death. The motive behind the encounter and the specific method by which Warren allegedly inflicted the lethal injuries have not been publicly disclosed.

Community members and former coworkers of Watson at the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System have speculated that the altercation may have been work-related. In the meantime, the SBSD has issued a call for any additional information regarding the case. "Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact SBSD’s Det. Eduardo Badillo with Specialized Investigations Division," as detailed in KTLA.
