An evening collision in Annapolis led to more than just the usual exchange of insurance information and fender repairs. According to an Anne Arundel County police press release, the incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 8:20 p.m.
Officers who arrived at the scene found a red Toyota Prius and were quick to notice a pipe within a purse of one of the car's occupants—immediately raising suspicions of narcotics possession. A further search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a significant quantity of mysterious white powder, weighing approximately 108.88 grams, alongside what is suspected to be 22.61 grams of crack cocaine, neatly packaged. Various other items seemingly related to drug consumption were also found.
The driver, identified as 46-year-old Dawn Marie Krause, who officers say does not have a fixed address, was charged and arrested. The exact details of the charges have not been made public, but the gravity of the discovery suggests significant legal trouble ahead for Krause.
The press release doesn't provide details on those involved in the collision.
