In the early hours this morning, an attempted vehicle theft led to a high-speed chase in Bexar County, ending with two suspects in custody. The incident began on the Far West Side of San Antonio near Marbach Hill and South Ellison Drive, where, according to News 4 San Antonio, the suspects were attempting to break into a vehicle around 1:30 a.m. The homeowner confronted them, and one suspect allegedly fired a shot before fleeing.
No injuries were reported in the course of these events. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) pursued the suspects as they attempted to escape. The San Antonio Police Department's EAGLE helicopter assisted by tracking the vehicle from the air, according to KSAT. Despite the suspects' efforts to flee, law enforcement officers were able to capture them shortly after.
The chase concluded off Marquis Lane and Jones Maltsberger Road where the deputies executed their arrest. The authorities now have both suspects in custody and are continuing to investigate the details surrounding the attempted theft and subsequent events.
