As gas stations across Cherokee County and the wider expanse of northern Georgia grapple with unrelenting thefts, law enforcement agencies rally to put an end to a burglary spree that has haunted store owners for close to a year. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Cherokee County deputies are in pursuit of Monique Tucker and Sanquiez Lee, the duo suspected of orchestrating a wave of gas station burglaries that spanned between October 2023 and September 2024.
These alleged serial crimes extend beyond Cherokee County, with Forsyth, Lumpkin, and Douglas counties also reporting breaches. Deputies have identified the suspects' possible movement in a black 2013 Buick Enclave. Authorities urge anyone with information about Tucker's and Lee's whereabouts to come forward. As reported by WSB-TV, the Enclave has a Georgia license plate, tag number SDL0124.
Cherokee County is not alone in facing these crimes, as law enforcement links a series of burglaries that have left many businesses uneasy. Cherokee County is calling on citizens to help find the fugitives. Active arrest warrants for Tucker and Lee have been issued by Lumpkin County, as they were last tracked near west Atlanta.
The reminder stands as a beacon: anyone with information, no matter how small, is encouraged to contact the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 678-493-4322 or reach out to 911 to contribute to the community's safety. No piece of information is too trivial in the collective effort to restore order and security to the businesses that serve us and uphold daily life in north Georgia.
